Beginner Guided Hike/ Snowshoe and PIE- Oct 25

A short winter hike (or snowshoe) and pie after!!

This is a beginner guided hike with some elevation gain. If snow shoes are needed I will be bringing those for you. We will be meeting at Miners cafe after for Pie! (optional-not included in the price)
This is a challenging beginner hike that is really a cool historical walk. Round trip this is close to 5km. We start at an overgrown graveyard and work our way up to an old coal mine road, which still has remnants of the coal mining operation around if you are willing to explore! We will be going slow and steady as your guide talks about the history of this very “alive” ghost town. Lots of time to take photos, and break for lunch.There will be time after to explore what fascinating history Nordegg has to offer! The whole group is invited after to warm up with pie.

Ghost Town adventure hike- Skunk Hollow Nov 7

This is a challenging beginner guided hike with some elevation gain. If snow shoes are needed I will be bringing those for you.
This is a challenging beginner hike that is really a cool historical walk. Round trip this is close to 5km. There are some steep hills and stairs. This hike starts off at the William J Bagnell wilderness area . We will find the Skunk Hollow sign that gives directions to the coal mine operations, Using that info we will start our adventure of searching the hills for signs of the mining operation and old ghost town. We will be exploring around and going off trail, this is classified as an adventure because it is off trail and the group can choose what direction we take. Lots of time to take photos, and break for lunch.
November can have no snow OR lots. If we need snowshoes I will be providing them

Chester Lake- Intermediate Guided Hike- Nov 22

Our adventure takes us to a forested trail that leads to an alpine meadow and the lake below Mount Chester. This can be done by beginner hikers. (It is a challenging beginner ) It is 9.7km round trip 424m of elevation gain It is a bit of a climb to start out but the trail evens out. You will feel refreshed and empowered after this hike. Total distance is 9.7km round trip. If you are not sure if it is a good fit, send a pm and we can chat to see if it would be the best one for you.
Meeting at the trailhead at 10 am. It is a bit of a drive to get to the trail head, please consider staying close by, (Canmore or in Kananaskis) the night before or plan on a early start. (Approx 2 hour drive from Calgary)
Included: A experienced guide! A detailed supply list. Information about the trail and history of the area. Bear safety information. I bring the bear spray and first aid kit.

Your hiking guide's priority is having a safe, fun and informative tour that connects you more to where you are visiting. Hiking time is between four and six hours, which includes lots of time for lunch and photos. Please note that you must have sturdy footwear and we recommend dressing in layers to adapt to constant weather changes. EXPECT COLD AND WINTER CONDITIONS. Dress appropriately. A full gear list will be supplied.

Refund policy: We don’t do refunds - within 2 weeks or exchanges for tickets within a week of your hike. I have emergency and medical info on each hiker that is logged with a check in person . If there was any type of emergency all that info needs to be correct for each hike. Please DO NOT attend if you have covid 19 symptoms.

 

WINTER HIKE EXCEPTIONS- We will cancel if temperatures or wind chill go below -25 or the highways on the way to the hike closed or are deemed unsafe for travel. (by the authorities

Meet at trail head at 10 am, maps and all details will be sent to those registered one week before.
Kids and dogs are welcome on this hike!
