Ready for a day away to the mountains? A fantastic day of fresh air and connection with other ladies. Bring your mom, friends, sister or aunt! This hike is suitable for a beginner hiker. Your hiking guide's priority is having a safe, fun and informative tour that connects you more to where you are visiting. Hiking time is between four and six hours, which includes lots of time for lunch and photos. Please note that you must have sturdy footwear and we recommend dressing in layers to adapt to constant weather changes. Dog Lovers Hike- Jura creek (Beginner) May 30

May 30- Beginner hiking trip to Jura Creek. 7 km round trip, expect uneven ground as most of it is right in the creek bed. This is for those of you that want to bring your dog!! (Or just if you like dogs!) Everyone welcome.

Lunch at the Lake May 31

This is a beautiful beginners hike with some elevation gain, located in Kananaskis Spray Valley. The initial section of the easy and spectacular 1.2 KM (¾ mile) one-way extension trail to Karst Spring initially crosses vibrant wetlands on wooden beam platform over an expansive, and very beautiful area. Abundant, and prehistoric horsetail is thriving and serves to create a vibrant green ground cover.
Following a lengthy section on wooden beam platform through lush and vibrant wetland, begins the dirt trail portion which quickly gains access through mature forest to the edge of roaring white water. Soft easy trail through old growth forest is aromatic and soothing. Elevation gain begins beside the roaring water and continues up through the forest with intermittent views of the falling water. This section of the hike involves some elevation gain.

Included:A fancy and delicious, meat and cheese style lunch will be served by your guide.Your guide will cover safety, conservation and provide information on the history of the area. A experienced guide! A detailed supply list. Information about the trail and history of the area. Bear safety information. I bring the bear spray and first aid kit.

Featuring a breathtaking suspension bridge, two river crossings (North Saskatchewan and Siffleur), a boardwalk portion, panoramic canyon and mountain views, lush forested sections, the quietude of the Alberta backcountry and 3 thundering waterfalls – Siffleur Falls Trail is a impressive hike suitable for a beginner hiker.

Meet at trail head at 10 am, maps and all details will be sent to those registered one week before.

Intermediate Guided hike- Coliseum June 6 SOLD OUT

15.1 km round trip with 815M of elevation gain
This is a challenging Intermediate hike that leads to some exhilarating views. Following some dense treed mountain side you follow switch backs for the bulk of the trail and your elevation gain. As you come out to a rock outcropping you follow this to the Coliseum area. Only upon looking back as you reach the peak can you see the Coliseum in all its glory. Sweeping views and a true summit.
The view from the top is the north horizon above historic Nordegg at the east border of Bighorn Backcountry, Alberta, Canada.
You must be in good physical condition for this hike- it is physically challenging and we will be walking up hill. It is challenging and very rewarding

Old Coal Mine Road- Beginner June 7 SOLD OUT

SOLD OUT This is a challenging beginner hike that is really a cool historical walk. We start at an overgrown graveyard and work our way up to an old coal mine road, which still has remnants of the coal mining operation around if you are willing to explore! We will be going slow and steady as your guide talks about the history of this very “alive” ghost town. Lots of time to take photos, and break for lunch.There will be time after to explore what fascinating history Nordegg has to offer!

Grotto Canyon Trail is a 4.0 kilometer moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Exshaw, Alberta, Canada that features a waterfall, rocky cliffs, pictographs, cool rock formations, sweeping views and MORE.

The trail is good for all skill levels. We will be going slow and steady on this hike. The views are interesting and there is something cool to see around every bend. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. A great Easy family hike through a canyon to some amazing waterfalls! Terrain is rocky and uneven (not stroller friendly). Kids will have a great time criss crossing this creek bed. There is youth ( age 3-13) and adult pricing

Creek side Yoga- Ribbon creek Beginner hike and yoga class- June 14

This beginner hike is a 9 km round trip, with minimal elevation gain. The trail is wide, and even which makes it easy for anyone to complete. Ribbon Creek is an area rich in history, boasting one of the very few "ghost towns" in Alberta. We will be taking this hike slow and steady, this is an "enjoy the journey" hike with lots of time for photos and connection with the group. There will be a beautiful meander along the river up to a grassy spot for lunch and a 20 minute yoga class. Restorative stretches beside the bubbling creek will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed! Your guide will cover safety, conservation and provide information on the history of the area.

Windy View point- June 19

Wind Ridge Trail- 6km and 400m of elevation gain. It is a challenging beginner- be prepared for elevation gain. We are doing Wind ridge trail just to the lookout point. Lots of variety- some nice streams and bridges at the start in a forested area, then it opens up into a beautiful meadow with lots of wildflowers. It’s a steady incline, and it continues to get steeper as the hike goes on, but the views at the end are SO worth it. You can see all of Canmore, dead man’s flats, and an amazing view of the 3 sisters. We are not doing any scrambling or the ridge climb. Very possible for a beginner hiker.

It’s a climb with some switch backs to a spectacular view. The last 20 minutes includes some steep inclines. We will not be doing the ridge walk ( that makes it much more difficult) We will be returning down the path we came on.

Hike and Fish- Rawson lake intermediate Guided hike- July 10

Transportation: Carpool (We will be meeting at the trailhead at 10:00am) This is a full day Intermediate hike starts at the south parking lot for Upper Kananaskis lake. The trail starts as an easy trail that winds around the lake, after leaving Upper Lake the trail becomes a long, steady climb through a subalpine forest. There will be plenty of switchbacks, so be prepared for a bit of a climb.The trail terminates at a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by mountain peaks and alpine meadows. Once you are up at the lake there is time to fish and explore. Your guide will be covering the interesting formations to be found and how the glaciers formed them. It is a great spot for photos, fishing and a peaceful setting for lunch. Please be advised that this is not a guided fishing trip, and the Community Learning Campus is not responsible for providing fishing equipment, or ensuring you have appropriate Wildlife Identification Number & Fishing License during this guided hiking excursion.

Easy Beginner following a old service road. Watridge Lake is a 8.2 kilometer moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Kananaskis Improvement, Alberta, Canada that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The pace will be slow and steady and we will be enjoying the journey! We will be going to this very pretty alpine lake and looping back.

Hike and Fish- Chester Lake Intermediate Guided hike- July 12

Our adventure takes us to a forested trail that leads to an alpine meadow and the lake below Mount Chester. This can be done by beginner hikers. (It is a challenging beginner ) It is 9.7km round trip 424m of elevation gain It is a bit of a climb to start out but the trail evens out. You will feel refreshed and empowered after this hike. We will be spending between 1.5-2 hours at the lake. Plenty of time to fish, take photos, enjoy lunch and explore. It is all up to you! Total distance is 9km round trip. If you are not sure if it is a good fit, send a pm and we can chat to see if it would be the best one for you.

Meeting at the trailhead at 10 am. It is a bit of a drive to get to the trail head, please consider staying close by, (Canmore or in Kananaskis) the night before or plan on a early start. (Approx 2 hour drive from Calgary)

The Hike: Upper Kananaskis Lake trail. We will be following a wide path around the lake. There is benches and rest stops along the way. Total distance will depend on the group. 5-8km total round trip. We will not be doing the whole lake loop. This will be about the journey and we will be going slow and making stops along the way to enjoy the view. Your guide will cover safety, conservation and provide information on the history of the area. This is very easy for beginners but you must be able to walk at least 5km (There is also a intermediate version of this hike.)

SUnrise Hike- Ha ling- Intermediate guided hike July 26

Ha ling is a intermediate hike with 7.9 km round trip and 804m of elevation gain. We will be going slow and steady. Meeting at the trail head at 4:15am

Bring your camera as this will be some amazing views and gorgeous colors you don't want to miss!

This is rated as intermediate and you must be fit and sure footed to attend. We will be in the dark for the beginning of this hike/ Prepare yourself for sweeping views from the top that will make for great photo opportunities, and time to enjoy the journey.
